Personally, I never thought of that scripture in terms of material requirements. I always thought it was a reference to tests of character. Maybe it was meant to apply accross differing scenarios, I don't know. It can mean something completely different, given a different context, but that's part of the problem with religionism. It probably goes well with passing the plate.

Well, sure... that's the amazing paradox:

Many ultra religionists:

* are die hard "social darwinists" but hate Darwin.
* radical right wing... despite Jesus downright socialist teachings to the contrary.
