That wasn't my point, but if you want me to back up my "statistics," I can do that:

Let's start with 1980. From 1980 to 1994 (Democrats), the debt increased from $0.9T to maybe $4.0T. Then from 1994 to 2006 (GOP), the debt increased from $4.0T to $8.5T. From 2006 on, the debt increased from $8.5T to an estimated $14.5T.

Do the math. Under Democrat-controlled Congresses, the debt rose by $9.1T. Under the Republican-controlled Congress, the debt only increased by $4.5T. That means the Democrats in Congress were responsible for 66% of the debt from 1980 on.

The bottom line is this. You can take statistics and skew them whichever way you feel like. In the end, you're never going to make Democrats look like "fiscal conservatives," because their idea of "fiscal conservatism" is to grow government, then grow taxes to match.

Now tell me again how you are a "centrist" who used to be a Republican ...
