Obama and Bush II seem to have one very bad thing in common - choosing the wrong people. For Bush II it was Cheney and Rove. for Obama it is Rahm and Larry.

It gives the impression there is something not solid enough in either of them that they would choose in such a way and be not only swayed by the likes, but 'who they are' to be contolled by the likes.

It is not untrue of Bush II that he was easy going and did work with people on both sides in Texas. That that changed in the White House does come down to a lot, imo, Cheney and Rove.

In the end he got rid of Rove. In the end he stood up to Cheney (and with the military who said 'no') and did not bomb Iran. but the damage had been done.

I guess we can only wait and see how much damage is done before Obama realizes he chose unwisely in his friends. and you know, if a friend picks badly, you can only wait and see... not like they will listen to you.

Rahm is a rabid partisan, no better that Rove. My way or the highway type of guy. I was surprised when Obama chose him to be his COS.
