Mr. Bug, I think you're wrong. Human nature is pretty darned constant. I think the founders attempt to fix a relationship between individuals and the government was as good as it got. It was dependent on most subscribing to a particular moral code. That effort has been failing for a long while and may now be near final collapse. Then again the MA election might signal a partial awakening. In the best of circumstances the common person is going to suffer -- I think greatly -- from imperfect "money" and crushing debt that's been accumulating for a long, long time. I'm scared, fear for my kids and theirs.
