Hawk the only reason the Israelis have not violated a binding UN resolution is because the US provides cover for them. Whenever the UN has passed a resolution binding or unbinding resolution against Israel, the US goes to great lengths to veto or get member countries to vote against the measure. That is a major reason why the US is so disliked around the world; even the Goldstone report, the US tried to shield the Israelis from the UN report.
