BridgePlayer, it's interesting that some of the folks from the View seem to be at least interested in the "5 points for Medical Reform" that I posted yesterday and that you presented to them today...

Couple of items:

One was concerned that it "doesn't do anything for those who can't afford to buy insurance at any price" .... We ALREADY have such a program....in two parts:
--Medicaid is directly for people of low income.
--Children of the 'poor' already are covered ....SCHIPS....

Problem is, Medicaid is a Government program. The Government has cut the fees they will reimburse to the Doctors. Some of the Doctors are already leaving the program and will not take Medicaid patients. They can't afford to do it as running their office, paying the staff and their bennys, rent, heat, etc etc etc costs more than they are able to bring in.

Then another was concerned that because these ideas were coming now, it might be a "trojan horse"...

All I could think was really, are these people so naive that they only read one side of issues...are they not aware that the Repubs have tried many times in vain to get such ideas to the forefront....

Maybe they should read this thread...then they would realize that there is a lot that goes on that totally escapes their attention, because so many of them are 'up and locked'... to their own view of the world.
