Any crisis is more of a stumbling process than a
coherent strategy. The latter would be nice, but
it's not how it goes. The truth is, folks in power
are clueless, and so are we. Maybe some of us
less so than they are, initially.

Then it involves drastic changes
in the society itself. In 99 most Americans were mostly happily
flipping dot-coms, in 2003-2005 houses, living
large on credit with half a week of paycheck left at the end
of the month in savings.

Now reality hits hard.
