You got it exactly. What I'm advocating is that we get smart about our war on terror. Let's not go into other countries with hundreds of thousands of troops and attempt to pacify entire countries and nation build them just so we can root out a few terrorists. That is too costly in terms of lives and money. Instead, let's go in with a very targeted approach with special forces, drones, fighter jets, and laser guided missiles and take them out when we find them. Let's also build up our spy networks. That's how we should handle it. And btw, the war on terror won't be over 50 years from now. So we better get used to it. Land based wars are not the way to deal with this. We end up just being a recruiting tool for terrorists when we do stupid things like invade Muslim countries.
