The common wisdom, offered by the media, commedians, and beltway pundits, became that Palin wasn't "qualified." The folks saying that were already voting for the anointed one, and this was a rationalizing explanation. The irony is that after serving in the state legislature, Obama spent some 150 days working in the US Senate before launching a presidential campaign. Few people said that Obama was "unqualified." Now why was that? As it turns out, he was qualified to campaign. Actually performing as POTUS....not so much. That is why Palin is compared to others, because she was comparatively "unqualified" in ways that have proven false.
