I'm not sure he knows that. But its a BIG flaw in his positions. With Mindmelt theres a lot of pretending going on.

Nope. I'm pushing us to diversify our energy sources, so that we're not so dependent on oil. It's smart policy to start to invest heavily in nukes, natural gas, wind, and solar energy sources, as well as in electric transportation.

Also, it depends on what you call viable. Our oil-based economy is viable if your horizon is the next 10 years. However, over the long run, including into my children's future, oil is not viable as a key energy source for this country. There's not enough of it that can be supplied at low prices. So we need to diversify now to prepare the way for greater options when the supply gets constrained.

I don't know about you, but I'd just assume we try to avoid wars over oil. This last one has already cost us $1 trillion and counting.
