<<why would I want to get involved with a new, incompatible format?>>

EXACTLY!!!

You don't see many OS/2 systems around, do you? You don't see many 5.25" floppies around, do you?

Few will want a product that is incompatible with the rest of the world.

THE KEY is: will OEMs do anything with it to help make it more acceptable? And, to that, I do not have the answer. In the meantime,it will take more than jazzy web sites, thousands of stupid press releases, hype from an idiot on Wall Street, and a few full page ads to save this company. It will take a miracle.

Also, why is the SparQ available only in parallel and EIDE formats? These interfaces are not particularly known for their speeds. If I had a 1GB disk, I'd be using it to transfer large files (images, sound, movies). I'd have thought it would have made more sense to include a faster interface such as SCSI2 (or better). I suppose cost must have played a part in that decision. Any video experts here want to comment on whether the SparQ will be interesting for them as a storage and/or playback medium? At $33/GB, it is very tempting.
