Truth is I'm more interested in getting to energy independence and oil independence for nation and economic security reasons. Those are the compelling reasons for me. The climate will benefit, in my opinion, as a result and that's a good thing too. But you know that it is equally true we'll never get to a renewable energy future by listening only to the GOP either. They have never met a renewable energy bill they liked. So somehow the deadlock needs to be broken between Dems who don't like oil and the GOP who don't understand why wind, solar, and electric cars are important.
