But we aren't talking about people banding together. We are talking about companies, and the only ones who really speaks for the company is the shareholders in the form of the board of directors in theory. In practice, it isn't even them but the CEO. Who may not reflect any of the ideas or thoughts of the shareholders. At best, he represents the small number of large shareholders. So you are talking about using a large number of people to subsidize the will of a small group who may not want the same things.

Which is the problem with giving corporations rights like this. It is only a small minority who gets to project their will with that kind of force.
