Wonder if anyone knew about this ahead of the announcement...

Ken,

Of course someone knew about it. The finance guys did the research,
the pr/corporate marketing did the press release. This stuff
ALWAYS GETS LEAKED. Why do you think SIII was down today,
while the rest of the market was up??? The prints where
terrible today. Did you see SteveG's post at 3:26pm today
(30 minutes prior to close) warning that something was up???
Tape doesnt lie, it was known ahead of time by a select group
and they traded based on this insider knowledge...

Sid

PS Glad as hell I am out of this stock!

Any idea how pricing pressures affect chips already sold to distributors but not to chip customers? Is it S3's loss or the distributor's loss?

Ken,

If you are right, and total revenues will not change for year 1997, does it mean that revenues in 4th QTR will go up $40-70 mln. Current mean estimate for 4th QTR is 5c. With this restatement it will be 14 + 5 = 19c to 29 + 5 = 34c. Correct me, if I'm wrong. AK.
