A single state solution? Excellent idea. I have been in favour of such a thing for years, which I call the NUN [New United Nations]. First rule - hate speech is banned, aka Koran and such genocidal threats and conspiracy to carnage. Punishment for "hate speech" would be to be sold at auction as body parts with the proceeds to further prosecutions and payment to the victims of the incitement to murder and attack. So, if we could all agree to the first principle of the single state, we could move on to other issues. Saddam had a chance to create the NUN for the security and regulatory enhancement of Mesopotamia. He could have used his palaces and good offices not to mention cash flow from oil and significant population to provide the foundations. But that would have taken some imagination and preferably some agreement by other countries to support or join in [universal agreement is not required - heck, one country could start it off and others join the federation when they see how excellent it would be]. Israel could start it too, if they wanted to, but there's not much sign of it so far. If the Arabs were not so stupid, they might even suggest to Israel that they gang up together for the creation of it. But that would mean ditching their barbarianism and they seem disinclined to do that. Nature seems to require DNA filtering over millennia to clear the dross from the gene pools before substantial progress can be made. Eugenics is proceeding apace, with rapid improvements even over decades [see The Flynn Effect for example]. With 6 billion people now alive, winnowing and eugenics is faster than ever. Heck, even new DNA is being formed faster than ever. Evolution is at hyperspeed. It's not an exaggeration to say we are at the Big Bang of DNA from the old biosphere into extra-somatic consciousness and intelligence. BTW how many children do you have?* Or have women performed eugenics on you and you are a drone feeding the process, to be recycled into CO2 and feedstock for the new, improved version of humanity? Mqurice * If you are an identical twin, how many children does your sibling [or siblings] have? They count as your children - very tricky and clones no doubt will have a great future.

there is a proposal on the table for 1967 border, yet the Israelis are not willing to entertain. I wouldn't entertain it either so long as Hamas is in power and proclaiming their intent to become the foundation for global Jihad. When they do not agree on a two state solution, thus they must be willing to propose a single state. They can't leave the Palestinian situation hanging in the air. Dude.. don't try and lie to us. Your only idea of a solution is the destruction of Israel. Again.. if the Palestinians wanted to prove they were willing to become a productive member of the international community, they would focus on developing their economy and free political system. Instead, any assistance we give them only gets embezzled and/or directed to those who support their "forever war" agenda. And YES.. I certainly can leave the Palestinians "hanging in the air". As Netanyahu aptly stated.. The Palestinians have climbed a tree and every time someone provides them a ladder, they climb higher. It's time for them to come to earth, accept their situation and make the best of it. The Israelis did the same thing, despite their original aspirations for controlling more territory than they currently possess. No one is going to support a bunch of thugs who brainwash their children to become suicide bombers while their men display their cowardice by hiding behind them. Hawk
