my lil white boy on the mountain boy didn't know of the blues either. I showed him this movie one night, he was only 13 then... it's by 15 he played that well... cause after that movie he picked up a guitar, he said he would get that good. I said, child, I done made my deal at the crossroads, you do what you do. but he kept it up. and as to blues, the basis of the winning slam was classical guitar - all great guitar starts from classical. from there you can go anywhere you want on the scale. listen, if you care to, to his slam, and it is classical straight up. the other boy, who was all sound and fury, he didn't have the grounding in basics. just saying. ride on down.
