Responsae to your response:

1) and 2) I disagree. The JBuilder announcement did help BORL move up. Also, each timely deliveravle of a new product helps to reinforce BORL as new company.

3) Hard to say how the oracle deal affected price of BORL, as a number of factors have worked in favor of BORL in past few months. The Oracle deal does give BORL credibility as an IT vendor. Another big OEM deal could raise perception of BORL.

4) I don't discount it. They said the money would be used for key acquisitions.

5) N/C

6) I would not clasify BORL as a "marginal tech stock" at this point.

7) Every time that BORL meets SW deliverable schedules, they gain credibility. THis Q they will GA 2 major products. From my perspective, they are a company on the way up. Not down. Little by litle, Wall Street is taking notice. Question is, when does it reach critical mass?

Many months? I don't see any rational for that. BORL has out performed the market. The company is strong with excellent product line that keeps getting better. They are well protected from MS (and MS is already fighting too many battles. They won't likely target BORL anytime soon). If BORL was still hovering around 5-6, we could say the jury was still out. At 10, I'd say the verdict is in. Everybody is just waiting for the "preceived" best time to get in. Also, I figure that we are 2 Q's into Del's 6-8 Q's. BORL is now making money at $42M.

I think that the jury will be out on this stock for many months. Heck, even Del reckons the turnround will take 6 - 8 Quarters. That's 18 months to two years away. November? Wish-and-hope.

Someone, somewhere, saw a value of 11 1/2 in Borland in the last few weeks. I think it is at least possible that could occur again without any big news. But I agree, there is not likely to be any news big enough to make for a large gain anytime soon.
