Jobs and the mortgage problems and business loans should have been the first order of business.

Bob Herbert gets it. Herbert is outlining the flaws in Obama's approach. I think Herbert laid out Obama's mistakes better than anyone I have read.

Obama, nor any of us, expected to be on the brink of another great depression when he took office. But the fact he inherited a different society than the one he had planned for he should have changed gears.

Jobs and the mortgage problems were the first order of business. He should have set health care aside until he had organized adequate responses to the primary problems.

Instead he followed the same course he had laid out, as though, the impending depression was just a glitch.

I think Goolsbee and Orzag are more on the page with Volker than Geightner. He really needs to dump Geightner and Summers.
