Yes, it means that candidates will lose effective control over their campaigns, assuming present contribution limits persist.

And why would corporations contribute to political parties rather than run their own advertisement. One Republican lawyer type consultant, Ben Ginsberg, has written that this may well be the end of political parties as we know them. Sounds a bit hyperbolic to me but may point to a corrosive trend that leads in that direction.
