Not having health care reform does not help the average guy. Not having the 2000 page monstrosity that got passed by either house benefits the average guy a lot. Not regulating the bank and finance industries does not help the average guy. Not regulating Wall Street does not help the average. In the same way that the oppressive rule of unicorns doesn't benefit the average guy, except perhaps as an interesting fantasy story. Not having stimulus does not help the average guy. The stimulus and bailout bills that where passed are, addition to being rather questionable as something that benefits the average guy, and are done deals; gridlock does not retract them. Further stimulus would be even more questionable, esp. if passed by the people who passed the last bill.
