It seemed silly to have gone after Saddam when Osama and Afghanistan were more than enough to deal with. It's absurd that Saddam, Uday and Qusay have been executed but Osama still taunts with tapes about how he sends undie bombers to annoy airliner passengers.

My argument was that the UN should have been reconstituted into a NUN, then conquer Iraq and set it up as the new world HQ of the NUN in a federal system but NOT a BIG Government Washington style wealth-redistribution constitution.

If I was Saddam, I'd have suggested that myself with me being the first local boss to keep the COW at bay [Coalition of Willing]. The UN is a travesty - a useless socialist WWII Victors Club.

I disagreed with attacking Iraq but didn't object to it since jungle rules applied there anyway and if the USA and troops wanted to play dog eat dog rules then the USA was a better dog than Saddam. But I wouldn't have been happy to put my life [or family's] on the line for just another atavistic tribal dominance hierarchy alpha male territorial conquest - even if some half-baked democracy might be the outcome.

If a good NUN constitution was established and Iraq would become a possession, then it would have been a different story.

I quite like good empires. I'm busy creating one now. A peer to peer self-organizing open source creative commons type global network. Google and their Don't be Evil mantra suits me.

It's quite fun that China and Google are now at logger heads. That right there is the future geopolitical conflict - the nationalistic territorial tribal states with serf citizens vs the individual property owning realm with self-determination and cyberspace.

Islamic Jihad is a rearguard action with 3D chimp species as the protagonists.
