I care about free markets because I care about people who live in them. The less government interferes with markets the freer we are and in general the more prosperous we are. If you cared about the people and looked beyond your ideology there are a whole group of people who not only benefit from the free markets but are hurt by them. For an example, many people in this country can not afford the basics in life including health insurance and are forced into bankruptcy due to health problems.
