Poll: Campbell leads Fiorina in GOP Senate race

news10.net

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- A new Field Poll shows former congressman Tom Campbell is leading the Republican field in the race to unseat California Sen. Barbara Boxer.

The poll, released Thursday, found Campbell with 30 percent support among likely voters in the Republican primary, compared to 25 percent for former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina. State Assemblyman Chuck DeVore had 6 percent support.

About four in 10 likely GOP voters were undecided. The poll also found that Boxer led all three Republican candidates in hypothetical general election matchups.

Last week, Campbell dropped his bid for governor and entered the Senate race.

The Field Poll surveyed 958 registered voters in California from Jan. 5-17. It has a margin of sampling error of 3.3 percentage points.

So right. And the Dems need to go the nuclear option if that's what it takes. Just ram it through and don't bother to ask please.
