BRAD, RE: LEGAL EAGLE FROM REVIEWING THE DOCKET ENTRIES, IT APPEARS THE PLAINTIFF'S MUST DECIDE WHO WILL BE THE LEAD PLAINTIFF'S LAWYER, AND THEN ADVISE THE COURT. SOMETIMES THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE (USUALLY MANY) LAWYERS RERPESENTING VARIOUS MEMBERS OF THE CLASS ACTION. SO THE LAWYERS GET TOGETHER AND DECIDE WHO WILL BE LEAD COUNSEL. ONCE THE LEAD COUNSEL HAS BEEN CHOOSEN, THEN HE/SHE/ OR THE LAWFIRM WILL BE DESIGINATED AS THE LEAD COUNSEL. FROM THIS DATE THE DEFENDANT'S WILL HAVE 20 DAYS TO RESPOND TO THE LAWSUIT. USUALLY MOST DEFENSE LAWYER'S WILL REQUEST AN EXTENSION OF TIME(30) DAYS BEFORE THEY WILL ACTUALLY FILE A RESPONSE(ALSO CALLED AN ANSWER TO PLAINTIFF'S COMPLAINT). THE DEFENSE WILL ALSO FILE ANY OTHER MOTIONS, SUCH AS A MOTION TO DISMISS, OR A MOTION FOR SUMMARY JUDGEMENT. THE REASON FOR THE DESIGNATION OF PLAINTIFF'S LEAD COUNSEL IS SO THE DEFENSE ATTORNEY'S KNOW WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THE CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR THE PLAINTIFFS. KIND OF LIKE SHAPIRO WAS FOR O.J.'S DREAM TEAM. (WELL, AT LEAST AT FIRST HE WAS, THEN JOHNNY TOOK OVER) I HOPE THIS HELPS.
