Haim, we were discussing CO2 being a "pollutant". It is not a pollutant. It's as fundamental to our lives as oxygen and nice clean water.

Yes, the other things are pollutants. That's beside the point.

Carbon dioxide is not.

Dihydrogen oxide is not a pollutant either though it does cause death in some situations.

Exhaust scrubbers can remove other pollutants such as sulphur oxides, mercury etc easily in power stations.

I have been on the air pollution case for 30 years. I was paid good money to deal with it. You are right that some things are horrible pollutants - it was absurd for example to put lead in petrol. The USA was fortunate there was smog in Los Angeles because it meant catalytic converters were seen as a solution and that meant lead could not be used. What a stroke of luck.

The rest or us kept poisoning our children with lead for another couple of decades, causing damage to brains and reduced intelligence.
