ls, the irony is that the government subsidizes illness to the tune of billions upon billions of dollars.

that's why a double cheeseburger at mcdonalds cost less than a stock of broccoli.

the main culprit is subsidized corn. it is a double whammy. it goes into making insulin elevating turbo charged high glycemic carbohydrate "foods" AND omega 6 fatty acid vegetable oils.

omega 6 fatty acids are the substrate for inflammatory hormones (pro inflammatory eicosanoids) and that substrate transforms into the big evil inflammation when combined with delta-5-desaturase, an enzyme triggered by insulin production.

DHA's (an omega 3 fatty acid) main mode of action is to combine with delta-5-desaturase so that it isn't available to combine with omega 6 fatty acids - thereby reducing one's inflammation level.

i ate at mcdonalds while losing 25 lbs of pure fat and a little water weight. i didn't eat there often and i knew what to order to minimize the damage. mcdonald's isn't nearly as bad as the miseducation and dangerous government subsidies.
