Yes I agree, but those companies won't be paying for ads on green energy, they will be paying for ads that are specific to them. Sooo, Exxon for instance might be willing to target a politician in Maine who might want to vote against the interest of an oil producer.

But my real argument is that this is a free speech issue regarding the Rights as guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. It's a philosophical argument that corporations do not have Rights. The people that own them do and the people who work there have rights - but any argument to give GE Rights just leaves me bewildered. It just gives more power to money in Washington to direct politics and isn't that just what many have decided have created the problems there?
