Ron, congrats on understanding what a great industry the financial world is! I am sure you will be successful at whatever you do.

Here it is...forget the day trading shops. There is no career there. Go to a small hedge fund or a small market makers or a small third market makers. At these firms because of their sizeyou will get serious responsibilities (if you are skilled and have what it takes) more quickly than at large firms.

I never considered a large firmwhen I started, even when I considered practicing law. I interview at small law firms becauase I knew I had a greater shot at getting into court more quickly and didnot want tospend countless hours in the law library. The same applies here. At a large firm, you get a low, low position but the upside is sometimes greater. You are a piecein the cog. obviously if you know my feels and approach, you know I don't like "big" "corporate" culture. But I have had many calls and emails from bright aspiring persons such as yourself.....I recommend small, midsized hedge funds, small mutual fund or small market makers. There you can get good broad exposure, have you input count and use it as a stepping stone.

What ever you do, only go to the most reputable firms around. No shady stuff. You are known by the company you keep.

If you want to talk about it, feel free to call me. We would have to arrange something for early one morning but it would be my pleasure.Someone did it for me a number of years back and I am still thankful to that person.

Best wishes, good luck.
