Actually the poor would be better off at least temporarily if the markets were not so free. That's possible, but highly debatable. And that's if the steps to make it "not so free" where carefully chosen which seems relatively unlikely. However, in the long run it would hurt everyone. Glad to see you recognize that. And I have never proposed that the markets be unfree so its a straw man. Perhaps not in so many words, but again and again you support proposals that would make it less free.
