Imo they stuck down a 2002 statute and reversed a 2003 decision for sure and arguably reversed a decision from the 1990's but we'll have to agree to disagree on that. To establish which of us is correct would probably take 24-36 hours of undistracted effort at a minimum ... given the opinion, the concurrences and dissents it is one hell of a long read, and even then one would have to read the prior cases, maybe the legislative history of the statute in question (though legislative history tends to be pretty worthless)... determine whether a prior case is being reversed or distinguished, ad infinitum.
