Nothing stupid about it. The goal was to avoid a depression. while jobs is certainly a part, it isn't the totality. A jobs bill would not have a focus on infrastructure. Nor would it have had tax cuts. Both of which were very much a part of the stimulus.

But, you knew that, didn't you?
