Money is just a measure. Like C and F measures temperature, money measures value of things.
Although we have C, F and Kelvin, water boils always at the same temperature at a given altitude above sea level.

As you correctly point out: At times money measuring value of a certain place veers astray.

I keep telling wife that, I never used Cruzeiros to measure Brazilian value, only USD.

I said to her, one day will come everything will have its own and true value. For that to happen, it would be necessary to remove the distortions of the economy and open it up to the outside.

I thank the Washington Consensus that forced the periphery to open up, liberate, deregulate and privatize. That took care of 'open it up to the outside'.

FHC and Lula took care of the removal of the distortions to a certain degree, there are still much to be remove yet.

All that happened post 1994 EXACTLY the time Brazil entered the Demographic Window. That is why I finally started repatriating money to Brazil.

It dawned on me, from here on it is going to be unstopable.
