No, no...what I said was "stimulus". I don't recall the government coming up with a broad based "stimulus package", allocating a block of money, and then looking for ways to spend it. In this case, I think the fact that this recession was over before much of the stimulus money even got into the economy is worth noting. The methods we already have for keeping a recession from spiraling things down are enough in my opinion. Things like massaging interest rates and the money supply, extending unemployment insurance, pension guarantees when bankruptcies take place, for ex.
