There exists something called the Passive-Dependent personality type. This type needs feedback from other
people so badly that they will even seek negative feedback to fulfill that need. They often provoke negative
feedback but in such a way that they will continue to see themselves as being Passive, but still the center of
attention. If you pay attention to this provocative behavior, even with punishment, you reenforce it and the
behavior increases. If you ignore the provocative behavior it will be diminished or extinguished.

When you see a thread start to center around a single person, you are probably seeing such a transaction
occuring. Remember, the only way to extinguish this behavior is to ignore it.
