It's quite interesting that the J.P. Morgan analyst who upgraded Newbridge, William Rabin, did so after a very marginal increase in his per share estimates for both 1998 and 1999. The '98 estimate goes up $0.04 per share and the '99 estimate goes up $0.01 per share. This is hardly the sort of improvement that warrants an upgrade. It's this kind of nonsense that has made this stock a favorite of the trading crowd.

Put me down as cynical.

Looks like the market looked backwards again. People came to expect the same growth Q after Q that NN experienced a few years back. Growth is there, but perhaps expectations are a bit too high? Seems like there are a bunch of ANALysts who don't really understand the business, and just suck a number out of the air. If NN doesn't get there, you get a today like today. What gives? bet there's a lot of ankle-grabbing going on today...
