Actually, I had forgotten about the checks from Bush when I made that post. I guess no Party has a monopoly on bad ideas.:)

But yes, that is this recession. There must be a cabal of economists somewhere that have convinced the leadership of both Parties that at this juncture in history, it's cool to have the government try to spend the way out of a recession.

I still don't recall this happening in other recessions though perhaps it did.
