I don't see that as a contradiction. Free markets (I mean really free -- not one manipulated by banksters, special privelege and disproportionate taxation) will undo this -- the problem is the abuse of government control by these elite to enrich themselves -- the answer is not to exert government control in the other direction, but to give others a chance by not insisting they tie two hand behind their backs before competing.
