The issue here is seizing the opportunity to project the Democrats as fiscally responsible. It is not about competing with the Repubs for that image. One of the best moments for me yesterday was when Obama outlined all the instances in the past year where his Administration provided the tax cuts. The American people are smart enough to figure out that while the Repubs just keep talking about cuts and give those to the rich, the Dems led by Obama are the ones who are providing tax cuts that are meaningful.

Chinu, you're missing the point......the Dems don't have a 60 vote majority in the Senate. They need the Rs to pass legislation. The vote failed because the Rs didn't step up. You're so ready to blame the Dems when its the Rs who continue to be the culprit. If you give your enemy enough rope, they will hang themselves......the Rs did that today. Now Obama, the sheriff, needs to come back in and point out the obvious.

Another moment under the sun was when he expressed his determination to erase the 1 trillion deficit that he created while at the same time mentioning that there is a 8 trillion dollar deficit of the previous Administration.

All I say that this is not the time for any Democart to come across like a Republican and hinder the efforts of the party and the WH to regain the imagination of the voters. I may be wrong, but the voters are in no mood to have the political parties say that they are better than the other one and that the other one failed to deliver but we did. I think Obama made that clear yesterday when he stressed that the Repubs are equally accountable. And the American people got it. Now the Dems need to show the people that they can overcome all the barriers that the Repubs are putting to impede fulfillment of what the Americans need.

The Rs are the culprit......the majority of that 56 yea vote were Dems.
