By some accounts they are. However, I think it's a conspiracy
theory. Like Jesus, some may choose to believe in it. Every
country has an independent Central Bank. It is true that
they blow things up sometimes, but all of them pretty much
did the same exact thing.

The Fed is an extremely complicated beast, and I don't have
the full grasp of things they are doing. The idea behind it
is to introduce Central Planner to reduce the effect of
business cycle on employment, but it does not always work
out that way. The shareholders in the Fed don't really own it. -g-
