It had a Republican sponsor, and a Democrat sponsor (making it "bipartisan").

And, it USED TO HAVE several other Republican sponsors (including Senator McCain) who then flip-flopped and voted against what two weeks earlier they were on the record as supporting.

And, it certainly STILL HAS official Republican backers in the House... (so, yes, it's fair to call it "bi-partisan".)

The short/short is that SOME POLITICIANS are (however reluctantly) SERIOUS about cutting federal deficits... while OTHER POLITICIANS only want to CLAIM in soundbites that they are 'a'gin deficits.

But, when push comes to shove, they are always voting to make BIGGER deficits....
