I don't think there would even have been a dead cat bounce in ER if not for all the future-taxpayer-extorted down payments for the cheapest tier of homes. Some clown here was boasting a few months ago how the downturn was over and everybody who didn't believe that should suck eggs. I felt at the time and said so that the downturn would resume within six months or so. I haven't wavered from that belief, and think the latter part of this year will be very dicey, unless extraordinary prop-job behavior resumes in which case the probability of a serious currency crisis, either here or sparked somewhere else in the world, increases significantly in the short term.
