That doesn't logically follow. Lots of things existed then that received no mention in the constitution.

They did exist then, but if they truly had not existed that would suggest that the first amendment would apply to people operating withing them, since the founders could not have excluded them from the protections (not even as part of their intentions that didn't actually make it in to the words of the constitution)
