HP, IBM, SEG have decided to enter the tape business as partners - most likely to try to take some market from QNTM's DLT. As their effort to develop a standard has not even started yet, we will have to wait and see what the products will be like. If they have not started developing yet, we can expect at least 1 or more years before any products are announced. I believe this announcement could hurt QNTM from a psychological point of view for now, but it will also give them further incentive to speed production of their next generation products (Terastor DLT product for example). biz.yahoo.com
