George Friedman of Stratfor in his book "Next 100 years" thinks that the key is control of sea lanes and US navy will dominate all in this regard in the foreseeable future. China's navy is too small to matter today. They will buy the energy resources as long as they can, but time will come when these resources will be taken over by force.
