the world must unite NOW to defeat America and send it back to the stone age before any more damage is done. Wow!! Powerful beliefs... So let's say that you and Mish succeed in your goal of returning to return to the good 'ol days of nationalistic, ethnocentric, multi-polar power structure. And let's say we all return to global colonization and empire building to boot. Mish says we can't afford to play "global policeman" any longer..... I say we can't afford NOT to be involved in how the global "rules" are implemented, especially when they protect our values and interests. If we don't set those rules, some other global power will.. And does anyone thinks that China, or Europe, is going to act in our interests, they're fools. Our "global rules" have led to tremendous change which, for the most part, have been very positive for the people of this planet. Decolonization, political freedoms never before available, the UN, NATO, SEATO, etc, etc.. And while our "governance" hasn't been completely altruistic, We only need VISUALIZE A WORLD WHERE THE RULES WERE SET BY Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, Imperial Japan, or Communist China. These power-elite hardly care for humanitarian rights. They won't permit a free media to exist. They would censor the ULTIMATE SOURCE of news and views, the internet. And then we hearken in an Orwellian future. Bottom line, some one has to set the global rules, or at least have sufficient power to influence the agenda. And if you're not willing to back up those global social rules/laws with coercive force, when necessary, then global society, like local society, will devolve to chaos. Hawk
