" I see the Dow declining to the low from which the entire rise started. That low was the 2002 low of 7286. If the Dow does not halt its decline at 7286, I see it sinking down to its 1980-82 area, which would be around Dow 1000."
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Something that always comes to mind when i see Dow projections is the effect of "survivorship bias" on the Dow ,and how the dow is calculated. Feel free to calculate the Dow today without the removal of the laggards and bankruptcies, and the addition of the rising stars.

DOW at 1000 is absurd because the dollar of 1980 is not the dollar of 2010, and almost certainly not the dollar to be of 2015.
Commodities and equities will be refuge from fiat inflation necessary to pay interest on US debts.
I am optimistic and see the DOW no lower than 3000.

He's probably not wrong but fortunately very few people pay much attention anymore to that senile old, has been, biker with a porn star daughter.

BTW my father was one of his very first subscribers way back when. I used to read him a lot but lately he doesn't seem to be consistent nor do I think he really knows what he believes anymore so I stopped reading him years ago.
