ok, smarty -- you put together an enforcable law -- nonsense, if you ask me -- drinking you can measure blood alcohol content at the scene -- unless you've got a witness and even then.

The thing is if someone get killed because you were eating a big mac or picking up a pencil you dropped or texting -- the result is still the same: someone is dead -- there's nothing special about texting -- now what if a cop is looking inside someones car and sees them texting -- pull them over what if they are texting at a stoplight -- what if they are in a parking lot -- what if their hands are down but the officer can't see --

No, unless you are going to bust someone for possession of a cell phone or listen in electronically and pinpoint them via electronic means it's all bs -- but do you want someone listening in to everything you are doing ...

It is unenforcable and impossible to penalize this and NOT let other "distracted" drivers go ...

You're a part of the "there oughta be a law" for everything that annoys or puts me at risk and can't think through the result of such an approach.

this is the dilemna ... there is a solution: It's called a constitutionally limited form of government -- something we USED to have ... with freedom comes responsibility -- but no-one wants either any more, apparently
