Re: Shell/Cosan. I expect most of that ethanol and sub-salt oil will be consumed in Brazil. As you keep saying, Brazilians will consume com gusto!

Brazil has the 5th largest population in the world, almost 200 million people. They're going to want bigger homes, more cars, motorcycles, big-screen TVs, electronics, kitchen appliances, electric toothbrushes, power tools, Disneyland vacations, and all the other energy-hogging stuff that goes with a modern consumer society.

Oh yes, and a bigger defense capability too. Your military wayo men are already concocting the need for a larger force to protect the sub-salt hydrocarbon resource and solidify Brazil's pre-eminence in Latin America. Maybe you can get a deal on a used aircraft-carrier battle group from the downsizing USA. All those ships and planes will need a lot of fuel! ;)
