Gib, I'm not totally biased against governments. Heck, some of my best friends are government workers.

You'd have to read between the lines to see my antipathy, so I'm not surprised you have missed it until now. <You don't like the government? I'm very surprised to hear that! You never mentioned this before. >

Heck, not only am I in favour of some homeopathic amount of government, I have been promoting for a third of a century the biggest government of all - a revamped and empowered, albeit heavily circumscribed, United Nations. Call me a wacky socialist, but I firmly believe we are all stuck on this little planet with tragedies of the commons lurking everywhere.

We work together or hang separately.

I do believe Mq has mentioned that before. Wonder why he doesn't just move to some place like Haiti? Then he wouldn't be bothered by irritations like pesky government building inspectors enforcing seismic construction standards.

As for those government employees and their generous pensions, they need to face up to reality. There's going to be lots of pain as the bubbles pop, and they're not immune...
