You don't show much evidence of having a wealth of knowledge in this area ... whatever biotech analyst means.

That entire post was driveling wishywashy generalities that doesn't deal with the issue AT ALL.

I think they were basic facts you seem to be unaware of.

------------------------------------------------
This is NOTHING LIKE drugs OR software or other high tech IP.

Since some drugs in which people can own IPR's are similar to drugs found in nature. Consider aspirin (patent protection long expired) aka acetyl salicylic acid, a variation of salicylic acids found in nature.

Or antibiotics which are modifications of compounds found in nature ie penicillin derived from fungi.

Are aspirin and penicillin (and most all our antibiotics) evil? Like hybrid crop varieties are?

You still avoid a straight answer to the question, so let's hear it:

When you can explain ethically how a company should be awarded a patent for a piece of DNA in your body you let us all know.

You haven't asked that question before. If its not modified in some way, I don't they could get patent protection. So I don't think its an issue.
